The Luxembourg Development Cooperation through its project NIG/019 "Support to the decennial program for Education development in Dosso region" has already drawn the attention of another donor. The Swiss ODA chose to delegate part of their funding (1 590 424 EUR) to LuxDev in order to support some of their activities.
Supported activities focus in particular on improving teaching skills and abilities by strengthening the system of initial training and continuing education and the expansion of bilingual education to all schools in the Dosso region.
If Niger traditionally suffers from a very low school enrollment rate, the Dosso region regularly marks the worst scores in basic French and mathematics.
The support of the Swiss Cooperation clearly shows the interest that many donors have in this sector. In addition, the credibility of the overriding project NIG/019 now increasingly attracts the attention of our partners.
